Giannis Antetokounmpo

Known for his sturdy figure, speed, and athleticism, Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player. He plays for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Interestingly, Antetokounmpo’s nationality, in addition to his combination of size, speed, and ball-handling skills, earned him the nickname “Greek Freak.” He is currently one of the top NBA stars. Giannis is a five-time NBA All-Star and has twice been awarded NBA Most Valuable Player Award (MVP).

Career

Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t begin playing basketball until 2007. By 2009, he was playing for the Filathlitikos youth league team. In 2011, Antetokounmpo began playing with the senior men’s team of Filathlitikos in the semi-pro Greek B Basketball League. During the 2012-2013 season, he moved up to the Greek A2 League. 

On April 28, 2013, Antetokounmpo officially became eligible for the 2013 NBA Draft. In his third season, Antetokounmpo made a huge leap. He recorded his first career triple-double and his shooting numbers increased across the board. He became the first player in Milwaukee history to record more than three triple-doubles in a season.

In September of 2016, Antetokounmpo signed his four-year deal. He has made the All-Star team each year since signing that contract. During the 2018-2019 season, Antetokounmpo was named the league MVP. He was named an All-Star captain in both 2019 and 2020.

Giannis Antetokounmpo #34 Milwaukee Bucks Jersey

The Giannis home white jersey features "Bucks" in green block letters across the chest above the player's number 34. Blue, green, white, and cream stripes line the side of the jerseys. The green trim is also used around the jersey's shoulders. 

Antetokounmpo’s name is in the middle of the jersey right below the NBA logo.

It’s a very simple but nice design, featuring all white and green trims in the collar and also cuffs. This design is a nod to the "work ethic" of Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
